We have just started the technical design work for this new one off contemporary house located in a field!
Our client came to us in Autumn 2018 after receiving the Class Q prior approval to convert the existing barn located on the site into a residential dwelling. After carrying out a concept design process, we engaged with South Somerset District Council early on in the pre-application process to get them onboard with the principle of accepting a knock-down rebuild and complete redesign of the new dwelling on the site. Two positive planning applications later have resulted in getting the client approval to their dream home. It has been a long planning process for the client, but the result will be worth it.
Instead of a cramped, low key and compromising quality barn conversion, they will have a large, unique, contemporary house with swimming pool, gym, southerly aspect and fabulous views!
The next step for us it to develop the technical design package of information, working with a whole design team including ground investigation, swimming pool designers, structural engineers and interior designers to make this dream become a reality – watch this space!
